Hoy nos hemos puesto en modo "Carmen Sandiego" y hemos seguido los pasos de uno de nuestros ídolos tras su salida forzada de Dior, tras un incidente que todos seguramente recordaréis.
¿Qué ha sido de John Galliano tras su salida de la casa francesa? Pues lamentablemente poca cosa... Tras pasar por una clínica de desintoxicación en Estados Unidos y los juicios varios que tuvo en París, no se sabe mucho más del modisto, al margen de su aparición estelar en la boda de su amiguisíma Kate Moss.
Today we´re wearing our "Carmen Sandiego" hats and we´ve been keeping track of one of our idols after his sudden dismissal from Dior, due to an incident that we all know about.
What happen to Galliano after all that?? well... sadly there´s no news since then... After spending some time at a rehab center in the United States and the trials that he had to go to, there´s no much new about the couturier, besides his Guest appearance at her BFF Kate Moss.
Polémicas a parte, es uno de nuestros creadores favoritos y sin duda una de nuestras más claras debilidades. Su talento, su saber hacer y su genialidad, creemos, son innegables y solo él pudo renovar y revitalizar una casa como Dior. Excesivo, extravagante y ostentoso como ningún otro pero elegante, sofisticado e impecable en la misma medida. Su universo es peculiar, sin duda, y hay que saber entenderlo, pero sus diseños nos hacen volver a épocas pasadas, soñar despiertas y olvidarnos del mundo por unos minutos.
Controversy aside, he is one of our favourite designers and, without a doubt one of our weakness. His talent, savoir-fair and genious, we think, are undeniable and he was the only one who could update Dior. Over the top, ostentatious and odd like no other but sophisticated, classy and impecable at the same time. His world is may be a little bit hard to understand but his designs make us travel to ancient times, dreaming awake and forget the world and reality just for a little bit.
Tras la boda de Kate Moss se dice que se ha visto a John en compañía de Anna Wintour (editora jefe de Vogue USA) en un café parisino.... ¿significa esto una posible vuelta del modisto? En caso de ser así, ¿podrá lidiar con la presión y la expectación que generaría? ¿SERÁ EL SUCESOR DE SCHIAPPARELLI ? Creo que nuestra opinión al respecto ha quedado bastante clara...y vosotros qué opinaís??
