As a fashion freak every month I spend half my savings in fashion magazines because I´m a romantic and I still believe in paper.
One of those magazines is, without a doubt VOGUE. Reading Vogue is a MUST, period. I always want to know what the magazine is talking about, check out its wonderfull editorials or fashion shows reviews... If you´re familiar with Vogue you will also known about Vogue BEAUTY and I just want to know if you have the same feeling I got when I finish reading Vogue Beauty.
What happens to me is that I feel like I should have surgery everywhere!!! I don´t have a good skin, I´m not super toned and firm, I don´t wear make up everyday, my boobs are small... I guess that being in my twenties I haven´t even thought about it yet... but, gosh!! I always end up a bit overwhelmed.
I´m not against plastic surgery, each one of us have a different approach with beauty and we try to achive that beauty in different ways, all of which are valid. I just feel so NOT beauty when I end reading this supplement.

SOLUCIÓN: He empezado a leer la revista de manera diferente.
PROBLEM SOLVED: I´ve found a new way to read it.
"Alexa Chung´s cleavage is one of the world´s most influential, says an expert, since 1945. When she was 18, she asures, it [the cleavage] wasn´t hers. She decided to improve her `little pieces of art`, always going for handmade. ´Now I spend my days taking pictures for my blog!!´ "

I love reading magazines like VOGUE as well, but don't let them influence you in a way that makes you insecure! the photos are almost always retouched.

I'm not really a magazine fan. I find it's a waste of money as it they are so expensive but 50% of the pages are just adverts so I stpped buying them.

Hola!!!

I haven't read Vogue yet, but wow. Yes, beauty magazines and such in similar does make me feel insecure about myself. Theirs models are so flawless and goddess like, or it's how they make them seem. But yeah, we shouldn't compare ourselves to others too much cause it'll make us unable to love our self for who we are and the unique beauty we have that we seem to always want to replace. Self love is the hardest love to conquer! ^O^ Great post! And thank you for visiting and commenting. Sure, we can follow each other but the GFC isn't letting me follow you. T_T I'll try again later I guess. :)

I love that you said you are a romantic and still believe in paper. I always say I'm a purist and you will never catch me with a kindle! I enjoy the smell of books and the feel of glossy pages. Thanks so much for your sweet comment back to me, I really adore your blog too. I love the way to style your graphics and clippings -super creative! Following on FB and bloglovin' -I'd love to keep in touch on any media you like!

What a clever way to not let yourself get down. Hopefully the fashion industry can veer away from creating restricting guidelines for what is beautiful for girls and women :(

I like the way you write. The fact that Vogue and all those other magazines only uses photographs of beautiful and perfectly thin and toned girls is really dangerous. A lot of young girls aren't happy about what they see in the mirror after looking into those papers.. I suffered from an eating desorder because of this.. whach out! :)
